Voices of criticism? How to Stop Your Monkey Mind
"It will not work." "What's wrong with you?" "Who do you think are you? "" That's a stupid idea. "
If a friend told you this way that you probably would not be friends for long. Curiously, however, most people have someone who speaks to them like that. It's their Monkey Mind!
Monkey Mind is that inner voice jabbering away from you, criticize, judge, blame, doubt and concern. Everyone has some chatter going on Monkey Mind. This is part of humans. In fact, experts say that our 25,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day, 90% of them are critical, and the majority of these critical thoughts designed to ourselves.
The critical voice of Monkey Mind is often the biggest obstacle you face in creating a happy and fulfilling life. Such a comment ringing in your head can drain your energy and you either slow down or stop completely aware of and create what you want really important in life. In addition, it is not funny!
If you are limited by pain and with your Monkey Mind Would not you like to stop or at least lower the volume? But how?
What does
There are three typical responses Monkey Mind: You're not even aware of speaking (which may mean he is running your life without realizing it), you believe and agree with what said, or you argue with her.
Unfortunately, none of these works replies. These have you either following Monkey Mind's dictates or allowing it to strengthen its power as you focus your attention on it.
What works
During my life I had a very active and quite mean Monkey Mind. For many years I tried and tried to get out of here, without much success.
Five years ago, I finally learned a strategy that helped. Using this approach I had a 90% reduction in this critical chatter. Monkey Mind is not completely gone, but his frequency and intensity are significantly reduced. This has created a profound positive difference in my life: Monkey Mind does not my life and that frees me to be calmer, clearer and happier.
What worked for me? Change my attention away from the spirit and Monkey around what lights me. Yes, it's that simple even though I understand it is not always easy.
When I notice Monkey Mind speaks I work to get my attention as soon as I can. I could take a few minutes to walk near the water, call a friend to chat, or read a good book – all things that I switched. Monkey Mind If I still need out there persist in continuing to think and do as I lit.
My clients also found this to be a very powerful and effective. The more they focus on and focus their attention on what the lights, the more they are able to decrease the volume on Monkey Mind.
The easy way out Monkey Mind grip on yourself and your life is smooth, gradual and persistent change of your attention away what he said and what you turn.
IN YOUR LIFE
If you want to lower the volume on your Monkey Mind, experiment this strategy.
1) Create a "List Enlightenment." What makes you smile just thinking about it? This increases your energy? What do you like? What are some "light" things that are fast and easy for you to do?
2) If you notice Monkey Mind recognize. Then, choose something your "List Lights" to think or do. Continue to do what Monkey Mind is out of the driver's seat and you're back running your own life.
The key to this simple strategy is to continue slowly, focusing on what you turn on until you have loosened grip on Monkey Mind you.
May you turn down the volume on Monkey Mind so you can create more of you really want in life.
