I want a Jersey Wooly Rabbit but do they shed?

I’ve googled asking the same thing and all answers include people wanting to use their fur for like coats and stuff.

I just want to know if they shed because I’m not sure I want a rabbit that is too high maintenance.

If you want a rabbit that isn’t high maintenance then I would not suggest getting any wool breeds.Though a Jersey Wooly’s wool isn’t the same as an angoras, they still do have a lot of it. They don’t shed in the way that a normal rabbit does, but they do leave tufts of wool on your shirt or in their cage or on your floor. The one thing with any wool breed is that they need to be brushed on a regular basis. With the Jersey, since their wool isn’t as thick or tough as normal angora wool, you don’t have to brush it as often. I usually just make sure that mine don’t have any knots around their joints and other high motion areas. I only really hard core groom them when the seasons change and they go through molt. At that point I go through with a comb and I get all the under layer of their coat out, which is usually quite a lot. If you really want you can just shear the rabbit, but then I think they lose their cute fluffy appeal. If you are not willing to put the work in, I would suggest that you don’t get a jersey, even if they are really cute.
