The construction and history of Vacuum Cleaner
Vacuum cleaner releases people from the cleaning house by manual labor. People always need a long time to do the cleaning and end up with exhaustion. If you are person that cares a lot about cleanliness, it is always a contradiction for you to have a rest or go on to clean the house from work. Vacuum cleaner becomes more and more popular now because it saves people from manual labor after intense work. Having a vacuum cleaner, you can always have clean and snug living room. The device works under the concept of suction. Let me put the concept in a simple way. Do you like to drink cola with a straw? Believe many girls have such kind of habit. When sucking the cola through a straw, pressure of the top of the straw will be reduced while pressure at the bottom of the straw will be built up. Therefore, liquid will be pressed up forward the straw.
Generally, the vacuum cleaner has six parts: intake port, exhaust port, electric port, electric motor, fan, porous bad, and housing. Air with debris and dirt enter the vacuum cleaner from intake port, and then porous bag collects and filters the air with debris and dirt. At last, the pure air is pushed out from exhaust port. Electric motor is used to provide driver for suction while fan starts and keeps the suction mechanism running.
Then, do you know who are so clever to make this invention? Early in 1860, David Hess found the way to use carpet sweeper to attract dirt and deposited it in a pan behind the sweeper head. Then the first “motorized” cleaner came to birth in 1899. It was invented by John Thurman. After that, Hubert Booth in London devised the first electric vacuum which was big and inconvenient to operate. Later, in a long period of time, kinds of vacuums came up. And James Spangler invented the first portable suction cleaner and the real popular vacuum appeared on the scene at that time.
The electric vacuum cleaner now is really easy to operate because of the small size and powerful functions. More and more people find it useful in daily life. It is believed that more and more excellent performance vacuum will be produced in the future. The development of high technology really changes our life tremendously.

Does anyone know the roots/origin of the last name Spangler?
My dad thinks it’s German, but I’m not sure. Just wondering…

per tis message, many Spanglers do have Pennsylvania (German) background.. but not all are known to be from the “proven” lines.

Once you have more information like that, you will be better able to understand how dna testing works to prove/disprove exact lines.

And yes, I had some good friends named Spangler, and his ancestry was German.
