Not a mistake – the dynamics, the cultural city of Cleveland, Ohio
From downtown to the suburbs, Cleveland, Ohio has much to offer. The city is a vibrant mix of cultures, located on Lake Erie. Having grown up here, what are some of my favorite places to visit if you will be in town. The best time to visit if you want to avoid very cold weather is late spring or early fall. You will not be disappointed.
Public Square and Tower City
At the heart of Cleveland is a beautiful old skyscraper called the Terminal Tower. Built in the 1920s, his lower interior was renovated in the 80s to have a large fully enclosed center called the tower of the city. It is impressive to least, with its fountains, marble floors and elegant, multi-level structure. That's where Clevelanders meet to eat, shop and go to ball games. Located near the stadiums for baseball, basketball and football. It is a city that loves sports. In the basement of Tower City, you can take the subway, called the Rapid Transit or RTA, east or west. The Rapid is fast and convenient. Many business use every day to go to work. It also runs the airport. Tower City is a center of activity for most Clevelanders.
The Apartment
If you like going out for a good meal, the plain is a picturesque place to go. Many restaurants are both on east and west banks of the Cuyahoga River, which runs next to Terminal Tower. This river is so immense ore barges and other vessels coming and going. The waterway is heavily used in summer for business and personal use of each. On the scenic west bank is Shooters, a popular restaurant I used to go, the view of the water is spectacular from there. There are concerts there during the summer by famous bands many genres. The history of the station is close to another popular spot. It is a completely renovated former building electrical energy with TGIFridays, howl at the moon Saloon, improvisational comedy club and more. My friends and I go there often to meet after work.
Cleveland Metroparks System
Cleveland is surrounded by a ring very large number of parks public, which are well maintained and offer spectacular natural beauty. There are places for cooking, shelter and picnic tables, jogging trails, horseback riding and more. This ring stretches miles across the suburbs of Cleveland. My favorite is the subject of Grief, in the fall, when trees are change their colors. Fall is spectacular if you love nature, the vivid colors of the trees really stand out. There are events such as performances equestrian shows, dog shows and others throughout the year. Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is a popular place, too, on the west side, nearby.
University Circle
This is an area rich in culture on the east side of Cleveland, full of students since many schools are in this area, Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Art, to name a few. Cleveland Museum of Art is a majestic building with many varied exhibits from the combination of the front armor for Egyptian mummies and tombs. Cleveland Museum of Natural History is one of my favorites, showing in detail the skeletons of dinosaurs, the history of the region, the beauty of nature and how the world works through exhibits, lectures and a planetarium. The Cleveland Botanical Garden is next, and a must for lovers of plants, He even has a rainforest. The Crawford Auto Museum is elegant, and the site of many weddings and parties. You can see cars of all ages in perfect condition. Ideal for lovers of old cars.
Little Italy
This ethnic part of the University Circle is a wonderful place to go to the cafe, or festival. They have yearly traditional festivals like the Feast of the Assumption, where the streets are closed and people jam in there like sardines. Little Italy is chock full of galleries. A former primary school has been transformed into a building full of shops and galleries, and shops are nearby art. It is a paradise of an artist. There are art shows and walks frequently. Stop Presti at the bakery for baking the most amazing, ever. If you are there at dawn, Presti has a small donut shop a few doors from their bakery, but it closes early. If you're lucky enough to catch it when it is open, the donuts are hot and fresh. It was a tradition for area residents for many years.
Chagrin Falls
A large suburb of Cleveland is my city native. With seven waterfalls throughout its territory, this charming New England town flavor has a welcoming atmosphere that occaisionally attracts movie producers, and is the site of a few past motion pictures. Go to Chagrin Falls on Memorial Day, when there is a parade and festival (Blossom Time) in the park downtown. This Americana at its best. Stop at the Popcorn Shop, across the street from the downtown park, where you can get ice cream, popcorn and other snacks. This is a very ancient, historic building full of history at the top of a waterfall. There is a stairway to get below and see the falls from below. If you go to Chagrin in summer is a must. At the heart of the city, there is also an old gazebo that was previously, where bands of the past would play music. This is a picturesque old town you do not want to miss.
The market of the West Side
If you like to buy fruit, meat and other food products directly from suppliers themselves, the West Side Market is the place Dicker and where to go with them. There are vendors of the family's long-standing charges of selling chickens, old world pastries, meats, chocolates and all fruit vegetable imaginable. There are Polish, Italian, Irish, Slavic, Mexican, German and other foods there. It is a melting pot full of fresh produce with a public faithful people who come from all over the shop.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Science Centre side
If you like rock and roll, visit the museum or be square! This is a modern and vibrant, built on Lake Erie, with exhibits, shows, and lots of memories. Next door is the science center, with its own IMAX theater. They are wonderful family venues, so make sure you take your children and walk around both places. Frequently when I've been there, boat shows can be seen outside to check on the water when you are there. The lake is a center of all activity in itself.
If you have the chance to visit Cleveland, remember to bring camera. It is very diverse with things to explore. Go to art shows, plays, museums and visiting the many restaurants premium. This city is growing and improving every day. Go see a game or two, take the train. At the St. Patrick's Day, there a parade worthy of attention, whether or not you're Irish. If you are more adventurous, hunting at Cedar Point or Amish country (about one hour downtown Cleveland). If you need maps while there, stop at the Chamber of Commerce or AAA. Whatever you do, go to Tower City, downtown Cleveland, worth the visit. Once you go you'll see why everyone is on this great city has something for everyone. Cleveland really rock.

Monty Python’s Life Of Brian – The Immaculate Edition [Blu-ray] $11.50 “Blessed are the cheesemakers,” a wise man once said. Or maybe not. But the point is Monty Python’s Life of Brian is a religious satire that does not target specific religions or religious leaders (like, say, Jesus of Nazareth). Instead, it pokes fun at the mindless and fanatical among their followers–it’s an attack on religious zealotry and hypocrisy–things that that fellow from Nazareth didn’t… |
