What kind of fighter jets fly over Virginia Beach?
I was in VB the other day and there were fighter jets flying overhead alot! They were always the same type and they were loud as hell!
Does anyone know what kind these were?
Wow…lets see if I can clear up the mess of answers.
VA Beach…closest base is Oceana Naval Air Station.
–They fly the F/A-18 E/F Superhornet there.
Next would be Langley Air Force Base in Hampton.
–They fly the F-22A Raptor and F-15C/D Eagle there.
–They have several VT ANG F-16′s there sitting alert.
At the beach you most likely saw and heard the Navy jets as our aircraft at Langley are required to climb quick for noise abatement requirements.
