How can i prevent my pony pulling his shoes off?
Every set of shoes my pony wears he pulls the front left off after about 2-3 weeks in. This is not only going to cause his feet harm, but its costing me a fortune in shoes.

Leave ‘em off! The pony will be healthier and you can save a ton of money. Learn to trim hooves and you can save even more. You’re keeping him in a field, so you’ve got that part of the barefoot lifestyle already. Get some hoof boots if he’s a little tender-footed at first. If you do it right, his hooves can get conditioned to whatever conditions you use him on.
If you insist on keeping him shod, talk to your farrier about doing the job right. If he’s always pulling the same shoe off, it’s likely partly due to a delayed breakover on the front, so the hind needs to come down before the front can get out of the way. The breakover point on a shod horse is well ahead of where it will be on a naturally-worn hoof, so it delays the breakover. Think of big long clown shoes slowing a person’s stride – same idea. The farrier can square the toe of the shoe, so it allows a normal breakover. If the heels of the shoe are also sticking out behind the hoof, then there’s not much chance of keeping the shoes on him.
