Relationship advice: Stop the negativity and develop a better relationship

New love seems to cradle and couples to make time expansion of all that is good about your partner and your future together. We now know that relationships go through a series of steps during years, others who may challenge the very bond that holds you together.

It is interesting to see how people describe their new partner to your friends and family, and how these perceptions may change over time. Unfortunately, some of the features as well as first draw people to each other are the same traits that are then perceived as problematic. Here are some that I heard over the years:

Why is this the case is subject to debate. One thing is certain:

Negative feelings are the most salient and linger longer than positive feelings. These negative feelings have a profound influence on your perception of others, especially your spouse or partner.

If I asked you to quickly recall something positive happened to you over the last month or something upsetting has happened, it is likely that you want to have quicker access to mental painful experience and painful.

What does all this have to do with your marriage or relationship?

If you do not actively work on the recognition and cherish the positive aspects of your marriage or relationship, sooner or later, the negatives grow like a cancer and take over.

Act negative feelings as a magnet that seeks the negativity of similar energy. So when you're in a bad mood or depressed about something, you're more likely to ignore the positive experiences, while highlighting any what's wrong with life. When you are in a bad mood, the relatively neutral circumstances may even be perceived with bias, negative slope.

Although your thoughts affect your emotions, your emotions also influence your thoughts and perceptions.

Therefore it is important for couples to settle down after an argument before attempting to reach a solution. If not, negative feelings on both sides will continue to create a biased perception and all that you do not (or does not support it) about your partner cry of attention.

Rule Base: You can not keep opposing thoughts about your spouse or partner in the same time. At some point you think it is either a total idiot or Mr. wonderful, but it can not be both at the same time.

So when you work on creating more mental space for positive thoughts to your partner, there is less room for negativity. And when you work on focusing on the positive aspects of your relationship (and life), you elevate your mood and you're more likely to ignore (or at least not constantly on) some defects that exist in your partner.

A battle that could have degenerated-Eric reply:

Like all of us, Eric argues with his wife, Brianna, from time to time. And as we all do, and it just feels justified in its position during the conflict and sees his wife as unreasonable. But Eric came across a simple yet powerful way to overcome the toxic effects that may persist after an argument, he could spend his mood and create a state of mind positive and he knew before, the argument does not lead his reactions.

After a quarrel, one evening, the couple went to sleep angry against each other. Before the work the next morning, Eric kept examine the argument in his mind and he even worked until repeat-while brushing teeth, he drew up his plans for a mentally ill will would probably last all day: the silent treatment, followed by rolling of eyes, some sighing and slamming doors and jerk for an effect.

Before leaving the door, Eric checked his e-mail and watched a short video funny when a friend had sent. Five minutes later, he laughed and good humor. The argument with Brenda was the last thing on his mind. But a few minutes later he began to think of new arguments and he could immediately feel her out a good mood.

Eric had two choices at this stage:

Ponder the argument and continue to feed his bad temper

or

Work to maintain and further, raising the positive mood

Eric decided the second option. He was able to stop his ruminations on the argument while watching the video fun again More.

As Eric described later, "At this moment everything felt different and cumbersome, I felt lifted."

With good humor in his hand, he was surprised he wanted to improve things with Brianna. When your mood is high, you will be more motivated to create and support experiences that feed your positive feelings. So before leaving for work, Eric has apologized his wife for her share of nonsense and things were back to normal in their relationship.
