Is it true that pit bulls are dogs that are destined to snap; wether you love it or not?

I have 3 kids (age 4, 6, and 11) that love this homeless puppy. I decided to keep it. 5 weeks later, I found out it is a pit bull when I took it to the vet. Now it is hard to take it away from them.

As most people have said, the dog will not randomly snap BECAUSE of what breed they are. It can happen to any dog of any breed, but it happens so rarely, it’s not really worth worrying about. I’ve owned a black lab/pitbull mix for almost seven and a half years now, and not once has she ever so much as thought about “turning” on us. (In fact, I worry because she’s so willing to defend us that should there ever be real danger, I know she’d put herself in harm’s way to save us!)

Make sure your kids understand how to play with puppies properly (no excessive tugging or teasing, allow the puppy to sleep/eat in peace, etc.) and everything should be fine. But as you all learn more about one another and truly love one another more, you’ll see that a puppy really does become part of the family. I very, very much doubt you’ll regret your decision to open your home to this extra bundle of joy.
