A brief history of Teddy Bear and Barbie
Teddy Bear is a teddy bear and the American president Theodore Roosevelt is the person behind the bear plush while Barbie is a doll created by Ruth Handler. The toys have their own origin and are famous throughout the world.
The history Teddy Bear back to an event in 1902 when Roosevelt was to help Mississippi and Louisiana to settle their border disputes. Well that hunting in his spare time, he came upon a wounded young bear and ordered euthanasia. This has led to the creation of a teddy bear toy called Teddy because Teddy Roosevelt was the nickname.
Barbie Doll was created in 1959 by Ruth Handler, who was the co-founder Mattel Fashion. The Barbie doll was named in honor of his daughter – Barbara. While watching his game girl paper dolls, Ruth noticed the child then likes to adult roles. At that time, most dolls like babies and some looked like an adult.
Ruth was inspired to create a toy based on three-dimensional paper dolls for adults who have to change clothes, but her husband was not happy at the idea. A vacation in Germany changed its mind, however Ruth saw a German doll named Lilli, which was based on a comic She bought three of them, gave one to Barbara and has taken two at Mattel. Ruth had reworked the body of doll and gave it a new name – Barbie and her first appearance in the world has been at the American Toy Fair in New York City in March 1959.
There are many stories that tell, who was behind the manufacture of toy teddy bear. The most popular story was that the first official toy bear called teddy bear was made by Morris Michtom. He had a candy store in Brooklyn, New York. Rose, his wife made teddy bears to be sold in the store. Michtom sent a bear Teddy Roosevelt and asked permission to use the name of the teddy bear and he got a positive response from Roosevelt. There are also stories that has with another company called Butler Brothers began mass production of teddy bears, but nobody knows who made the teddy bear first.
Toys are known for their early and are the favorite toys of children. Teddy continues to be sold and now there was a sale of about 350,000 Barbie dolls during the first year of production.
