Is a bottle of 1988 Faustino V Blanco Sero good?
It was a gift from a friend. It’s been in my fridge for about a year (on it’s side). It looks vintage and I’m afraid if I open it I’ll discover it’s a rare collectable wine. Anybody have an idea? It’s from the Rioja region of Spain.
Faustino wines can be quite drinkable, and even rise above some of the other supermarket brands, but they aren’t really that serious a producer. One thing it certainly isn’t, as you say, a rare collectable wine.
Open and drink (although the 1988 bit worries me) then, as Faustino tend to look good, it possibly has the worth to be kept and looked at as a decorative item and memory of the gift.
