Anyone know how to make OOAK custom dolls?
Hello, I’ve asked this question before but….
I was wondering if anyone knows how to make ooak dolls? I’ve been wanting to make my own custom dolls. I’m more into the custom horror babies. I need to know what kind of oils, paints, mohair, doll, clay and concealer I need. Anything else I’m missing? I just need to know all the items I need. I’d also appreciate it if someone would give me some tips on this? Thanks a lot. 
There are several factors involved in creating an OOAK figure:
What kind of figure are you creating?
Are you looking for a likeness of a certain person in your life or in a certain celebrity?
Do you need particular articles/props such as cameras, a particular boot or uniform, weapons, glasses, or are you looking for something very particular?
You’ll need to begin, as a suggestion, with collecting the kinds of figures you like, such as Barbie, GI Joe, Dragon, Blue Box, or anything beyond that.
General searches of common search engines can help you with your choice of key words such as “OOAK, custom, unique, action figure, doll, sewing, articulated” and such. Along with this you might look on eBay to see what customizers or services are available. Also, you might be lucky – if you’re looking for a Brad pitt figure dressed in the Tyler Durden out from “Fight Club”, then on eBay you may find someone selling the head, compatible with a certain body, such as GI Joe, Dragon, or Ultimate Soldier, and so forth. Almost all customizers can be reached throught their own e-mails or message groups.
Then you can try some of the customizer groups on MSN or Yahoo, and they can point you in the right direction.
After that it comes down to imagination and opprotunity and talent. Good luck.
