How come violence and sex were allow in kids cartoons in the 1930′s and 1940′s?
……..but nowadays it is censored becuase of soccer moms?
Back in the old days, they can show Daffy Duck smoking a cigar, Papa bear punching his son in the face, a sexy woman dancing on stage while a wolf whistling at her, a man blowing his brains out with a pistol. But most of our grandparents who watched these old cartoons turned out okay. They didn’t become sex offenders and serial killers.
During those times cartoons were not just for kids, they were often place before a movie at the theater. During the 1940′s they also became propaganda material to encourage confidence and support for the war. During this time there was a lot of cartoons that feathered Daffy Duck or Popeye fighting Nazis or Japanese troops.
Nowadays cartoons are supposed to be more kid friendly and PC.
