Deer Velvet Antler

Deer velvet antler, as the name indicates, is a product obtained from velvety antlers of various species of deer like red deer, elks, etc. Antlers are boney horn-like projections that grow every year from pedicles present on the head of the animal. Deer velvet has been used traditionally for thousands of years in oriental countries like China for its unique healing qualities and its great effects on the human body. I am planning on making a red velvet cake today. I have all the ingredients except for vinegar, and i don’t feel like driving all the way to the store

Can i substitute vinegar for something else, or completely disregard it from the recipe all together.

you really need the vinegar to set off the chemical reaction that makes your cake fluffy and moist. remember in school when the teacher had you mix vinegar with baking soda? it would foam up and go everywhere. thats the same two ingredients in red velvet cake. it is what makes it special~ go on to the store now and get some vinegar and let me know how it turns out!!
