Famous People with agoraphobia
Famous people with agoraphobia? you've heard of agoraphobia – but did you know that stars were several suffering from this condition of isolation?
Agoraphobia is more commonly called the "fear of the market" but in real life, he often plays on the fear of leaving home. Those who get agoraphobia often do after a series of panic attacks. Beware known again extreme panic – and fearing a panic attack in public, they tend to avoid more and more places and situations.
The end result is sad, it's becoming virtually housebound. For some unlucky few patients, they become limited to one room in their house where they feel safe!
There are about 4 million people suffering from agoraphobia. If you happen to suffer from this disease, you are accompanied by several celebrities. There are several famous people with agoraphobia.
The well known agoraphobic celeb most is probably Kim Basinger, the beautiful and talented actress. As a child her parents thought she was removed and they wondered if she had autism. Doctors examined her and thought not – but she seemed to find the social interaction the most stressful of his life. She was agoraphobic for several years and believes it is linked to all the public attention it received. Congratulations to him to fight against it and become a successful actor anyway!
Another famous people with agoraphobia Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. His agoraphobia attacks of schizophrenia is the direct consequence of the use of LSD and other drugs.
The rich and famous Howard Hughes had a difficult childhood, most lived alone and filled with many phobias catch germs (polio was endemic and no vaccine has yet been invented). He became very successful businessman, but was troubled throughout his life with multiple fears and years of agoraphobia.
The beautiful and gregarious Paula Dean is another one on our list of famous people agoraphobia! Paula became a single mother at 19 years and has lost both parents at age 23. She became very depressed. After several attacks panic she became housebound – than venture to the grocery store. During all this time at home was an advantage for Paula yet. While home, she cooked and cooked, honing her skills during 20 years in the house. When her life took another turn, she forced herself to go out into the world. She opened a restaurant and was discovered by Oprah Winfrey! She is now a television star in her own right.
