After reaching the point where you can provide all the basic things needed for survival, more money does not really provide additional satisfaction. Real contentment can be achieved by being generous and kind to others. One of the biggest advantages is that it allows you to forget your problems and re-directs your attention to someone else. Everyone has something they can donate, even those who have very little.
It does not hurt to give a friendly smile or a verbal support, but the recipient can mean everything.
The Make-A-Wish is a good organization consider if you're faced with the decision of what group you want to support charity.
