What is the best memory you have of elementary school?

My school used to have a lot of spirit days when I was in grade 6. They had teddy bear day, different colour days (I remember them having blue and yellow both at different times), twin day, play day! But my favourite one was when they had reading week. Every day, the “reading bell” would go off, and we’d have to drop whatever we were doing and read for 2 hours straight.

Everyone was so mean to me the last few years of grade school… They would write love notes to the teachers and sign my name to it, and then leave it on the teachers desks… They spread a rumor that I would try to fondle the girls in the locker room while we changed for gym class… By the time I graduated I had zero friends there. So my best memories are: in 6th grade, I won an art contest that involved several schools, and everyone was jealous… and in 8th grade, I won a contest that I didn’t even know was taking place… Every time we did a certain task, we would get points, and I had the highest number of points in the whole school. I won $50 for it… I still think of all the angry, jealous looks on those jerks’ faces and it makes me smile.
