taking the baby’s temp?
under the arm. the digital thermometer will stop flashing like it is done reading, but then the temp continues to rise. whats with that? i have 2 different thermometers i am using, and they read different temps. the other one beeps when it is done, it is significantly lower. ive called the dr and he said give tylonol to bring the temp down, so dont say call the dr. i am going by the higher reading to be safe. its 100.9 so hot to high. my dd is 4 months old
i know i should just get a new thermometer, but wondering why it acts like its done reading if its not?//
the one that flashes is a red cross one, the lil f flashes while reading the temp –then stops when done.
just so ya know i only give thumbs up:) her dr is open on sat and sun so im gonna try to keep the temp down as advised with tylonol. at our next visit im gonna ask the dr to show me how to do the rectal temp. i dont feel confident in poking around down there. thank to you all for advice
i would just use the one that beeps, or just get a completely new one altogether. i’ve never heard of a dig. thermometer flashing and then continuing to rise so there could be some sort of malfunction? but i’d definitely get a new thermometer. we had one that we weren’t sure about and it was so frustrating to not know if the reading was right or not.
