this is really interesting?
i dont know if this is the right section for this but bear with me and maybe some of you all can help. my dad was digging around in his backyard to put in a fountain. he came across something very interesting. it looks like a button from a german nazi uniform. it is brass and it has a swastika on the front of it. its a little discolored and there is a little chunk of the swastika missing but it looks really authentic. does anyone know where i can find more about this and i would really like to have it appraised as well. anything will help. thanks

Proud, it would help you get a more appropriate answer if you could give an idea of a location…like American mid-west, or some such.
In a general sort of way, it isn’t unusual that buttons from uniform, marks of rank, patches from uniforms as well as weapons were carried by Allied soldiers as trophies. It’s possible that this is one such trophy. You can have it authenticated by a reputable antiques dealer…especially one that deals in military antiques.
Best I can do…wish I had a better answer.
