I just find it so hard to believe, we had the talk w/ our twin daughters they are 15 and they took it very well… Actually better than I am, but I didn’t let it show. I want them to come to me w/ things and I know they feel comfortable , What bothers me is they told us they have girls in their class who have had sex w/ multi persons, a friend that got CLAP and even a girl a grade below them that is pregnate. Are we wrong for telling them if they ever want to get birth control we will understand? Is this normal age for teens or was I a late bloomer?

she nor my dad gave us the pep talk of sex or anything like it. i really think that parents giving that openess about talking about sex, birthcontrol, pregnancy, stds etc its great. Knowing that i could go to my mom for anything like that would be great.
My dads been better about it but he still doesnt like to talk about it.. my dad still never had the talk but we have this unspoken bond where i know if anything ever came up he would be behind me 100 percent and thats what i love. like i was talking to his girlfriend on msn that i was really sick and she thought i was pregnant and my dad took me to the store to what he called ‘ a kit’ (a pregnancy test) and they talked to me afterwards about the importance of staying on birthcontrol, staying protected and they wanted to make me an appointment with the doctor since i wasnt on the pill.

I was going to say that i think its good thing you had the talk with your kids. these days the age of losing your virginity is getting lower and lower, i would’ve told them at 12 just to be safe. I see it as i would rather be safe than sorry.
No you weren’t a late bloomer you just happend to be one of those great people who saved it for marriage which is rare to find nowadays.
