Are the taxpayers bailing out Bear Stearns for $30 billion because bush never learned from the Enron/…?

For a free market economy to operate properly, regulators must exist to keep its participants honest. Bush decided the greed of the ultra-wealthy rules all, and even though America had been burned once already by the first round of corporate malfeasance, which also happened under bush’s watch, he eliminated yet more oversight. As a result, shady lenders knowingly made bad loans which they then repackaged and sold to investors as AAA investments, and they got away with it because the regulatory policemen were handcuffed by bush for the sake of the capitalists.
Make no doubt about it, the $30 billion “loan” is a really handout by the taxpayer, and the government fully expects Bear Stearns to never pay it back. With the junk investments that they put up as collateral, its obvious they could care less about the government seizing their garbage when they default.
Yeah, I thought Republicans believed in the “Free Market.” I guess it’s only “free” for Bear Stearns, but costs the rest of us tax payers $30 BILLION!
