E-Mini Futures – Learning from Legends

great lessons of negotiation may come from many places.

Sometimes we get Trading ideas while playing golf or watching the ocean waves. But the more traditional (and reliable), I find I learn best from other traders – people who have "been there" and "fact".

If it is therefore not surprising that my partner is a veteran of Wall Street who negotiated and worked with top retailers for many decades.

Christopher Castroviejo is one of those rare people who can look an issue from many angles. It may take different views together and reform through scads of data to draw any meaningful conclusion. While this is useful in many areas of life, it is easy to see how this skill set is useful in the commercial world.

As I said in this space before, Christopher is a market maven in every sense of the word. Here is a new short introduction for those of you who have not been introduced to my good friend:

Christopher has spent 35 + years and around markets, and his résumé and a history of Wall Street has become a something of a legend: stay with Smith Barney, JP Morgan, a partner at Bear Stearns, financial consultant for The Vatican Bank to name a few. Christopher was warm and getting warmer. Highlights including turning $ 10,000 $ 178,000 in four weeks, eight years of consecutive profits up 43% as a senior hedge fund manager, a stylish Manhattan brownstone and a spacious summer getaway in the Hamptons Tony. Christopher even struck up a friendship with his idol to make money, the billionaire George Soros.

DR: Christopher, you essentially grown up on Wall Street with a grandfather was a famous merchant of the Depression era. You had the chance to trade advisor, manage money and learn from names most households. people like Paul Tudor Jones, Ed Seykota, George Soros and Julian Robertson, to name a few. What key lessons did you learn from Your interactions with the legends?

Christopher: You're right in what I have been fortunate to deal with incredible people. What made these guys stands by his mental approach to the markets. All have been completely devoted to what they were doing. And, perhaps because of this, they all mastered adversity. Each of them had to live samples and fallow periods. But persistence paid off and We all know how they came across hard times with massive success.

Another key I see with these guys, is that they show multiple ways to earn money. It is clear that all marketed in very different ways, yet found important edges in various tools, strategies and timelines. Each of them is an advantage which was consistent with who they are as traders. I think this carries on, what we do in the e-minis. Even in day trading, there are different styles and periods. Trend following and trend-cons. Shorter holds and holds more. Traders who remain on site at the banks that are compatible with who they are.

DR: You're the person most knowledgeable I have ever met when it comes to Market Profile. I do not hesitate one second when you suggested that we spend time face-to-head with market profile creator Peter Steidlmayer. These are two of the most intense days I've had in a while! You known Pete for a while – What were your main take aways from our time with him?

Christopher: Yes, Pete is definitely a guy who thinks still another level! I thought the concept was most interesting to know how the market has undergone a structural change due to the high volume, short period of commercial time of the rise of hedge funds. This, curiously, is a bigger market profile, not less. And how these deep leave signs in the Market Profile – like leaving the elephant footprints. I thought this session was particularly intriguing. I am eager to share this knowledge in Raleigh.

DR: In the current market environment, what tools and strategies did you hit like being particularly useful, especially in the E-mini futures?

Christopher: You and I were just watching some amazing formations double top that plays beautifully. Combined with the pivots of divergence that we use, those who have been particularly remarkable. In addition, work is spread still very good, but only in the structure right. And the key figures continue to be an excellent guide for the market behavior. And I had to pick one, these models would be double top.

DR: I'm really looking forward to teaching with you in Las Vegas for the E-mini futures prices.
