Christmas Shows in the Smoky Mountains

As the holidays draw near, friends and family begin planning time to spend together. Most families have traditions they’ve held fast to for years. While those are part of what makes the holidays special, many people look to add a new spark to their Christmas or New Years celebrations. This year, make attending a Christmas show in the Smoky Mountains part of your holiday plan. With numerous shows to choose from, you’ll have no problem finding good, clean entertainment the whole family will love. Here are a few previews.

Black Bear Jamboree Christmas Show

Located in Pigeon Forge, this show takes you on a search to find the true meaning of Christmas. Start at Santa’s Workshop and make your way to the area’s largest living nativity. With detailed costumes, millions of lights and plenty of Christmas music and cheer, the Black Bear Jamboree Christmas Show is fun for any age.

In addition, guests are treated to a feast that includes southern-style chicken and hickory-pit barbeque ribs with all the fixins and desserts you could imagine. While there’s only one show on Christmas Eve, from October to January two to three shows are scheduled daily.

The Miracle

The Miracle Theater in Pigeon Forge performs a musical (also called The Miracle) described by their website as “The Ultimate Battle Between Good and Evil.” With the help of a huge cast of singers, dancers and live animals, you’ll take a journey through the Bible that begins with the dawn of creation and ends with Christ’s agonizing crucifixion and His glorious ascension to heaven. You’ll be amazed to see angels fly overhead, witness soldiers on horseback and kings on camels as they actually ride through the theater. Feel the wind and rain on your face Jesus calms the sea. Thanks to the magic of this remarkable show you will truly walking with Jesus through His life. Beginning in March and running through December with one or two shows daily, this is definitely an event you won’t want to miss.

Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival

In the heart of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge you’ll find Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival. Beginning in November and lasting through the end of December, the festival offers over a dozen different shows to put you in the holiday spirit.

One of these events is Breakfast With Santa. Imagine the look on your young one’s face as they enjoy breakfast while eagerly telling Santa what’s on his or her Christmas list. They can also visit Santa’s Workshop where they’ll be greeted by larger-than-life-sized toys and have fun with interactive activities.

If you like holiday music, there are several shows to choose from. Christmas in the Smokies has a cast of 12 and a seven-piece band that performs most of the holiday favorites. At the Back Porch Theater relax and listen to the acoustic sounds of the Appalachian Christmas Show featuring early mountain holiday music. And if you’re a fan of southern gospel, you’ll want to catch Christmas with the Kingdom Heirs with toe-tapping, hand-clapping renditions of some favorite holiday hymns and songs.

It’s easy to see why so many people love spending time in the Smoky Mountains during the holidays. It doesn’t matter how many folks you have, how old they are, or what they like. With the tremendous number of Christmas shows available, you’ll have no trouble finding something to please everyone. Yes, I have one, and it’s awesome.
Colour: White, it’s a DSL… they’re lighter than the DS’ and more portable.
Games… tons, Brain Age (2), Cokking Mama (2), Rune Factory, Animal Crossing, Diner Dash, Mario Cart etc.
Accessories: well, I have an extra stylus which is bigger than the other one that it comes with. And it has a pokemon (turtwig) on top… it’s really cute, you can only buy the stylus’ in Toronto though.
Favourite game: I would have to say um, this is really hard. Either Cooking Mama 2, Animal Crossing or Diner Dash… One of the three.
