Customer Astonishment: 10 Secrets to World-class Customer Care

Great customer relationships make the world go around. Customers give us the opportunity to apply our talents to serve them. Then, they transfer money from their bank accounts to ours so that we have the financial leverage to meet our goals. This simple, everyday economic interdependence is what business success, professional accountability, and personal prosperity are all about.

In today’s competitive world, a satisfied customer is no longer enough. A satisfied customer is still shopping around until you provide that WOW experience and make that WOW connection that creates customer loyalty. To do so, you must move beyond mere customer service to the new world of Customer Astonishment. To astonish is “to strike with awe and wonder.” Using the 10 Secrets to World- Class Customer Care, you will learn the principles and methods to make these secrets work for you and your team.

#10: Create Options. Never say “No” to the customer. NO is often uncreative. YES is great, but may be over-commitment. The customer needs options. Create them. Even partial solutions are better than roadblocks. Be a world-class problem solver!

I had been reading alot of Dorothy Parker, it is not a serious poem

Loves lessons I bear:
Never stare;
He may think you care.
Brush your hair.
Be light and fair.
Don’t slouch in your chair.
Never dare
Let him into your lair.
Be brief in what you wear.
Don’t call for a year.
If you want him near,
Love, never declare.
Be a sweet peach, a pear.
Tantrums, keep rare.
Secrets, never share.
Let him not see your tear.
This could work, I swear!

I like her tongue in cheek poems the best.
One of my favorites of hers is Observation

If I don’t drive around the park,
I’m pretty sure to make my mark.
If I’m in bed each night my ten,
I may get back my looks again,
If I abstain from fun and such,
I’ll probably amount to much.
But I shall stay the way I am,
Because I do not give a damn.

Dorothy Parker was an excellent poet. Some of her poetry was serious, some humorous but I don’t recall seeing that one before. Thanks for sharing it.
