How can i train my dog to be better on walks?

Whenever i walk my dog, she pullls, and yanks, and doesnt listen, how can i get her to walk by my side to make the walk more enjoyable?

I have an 8 year old black lab who I adopted when he was ~2 yrs old. He pulled like crazy- didn’t focus on me at all, and coaxing him into paying attention to me just didn’t work. My vet recommended that I try a head halter- there are a couple of varieties, including the halti mentioned earlier, but I’ve had the best results with the type that has one loop over the nose and the other around the back of the neck. When a dog tries to pull, their head gets pulled down, and there is pressure applied to both the top of the muzzle and the back of the neck, just like a momma dog disciplining a puppy. Once he got used to it (which took ~ 15 minutes), my lab was much calmer. Even when he’s excited, he doesn’t pull very hard. I tried choker collars and pinch collars, and he just pulled until he coughed and kept pulling. This works much better!
