When does switzerland start blooming with flowers? What about alpine villages?
So – I’m studying in Switzerland, and REALLY want to get into the mountain villages when it’s green and the flowers are out. I’m only here till June 1st .. will the mountain villages (like charmey, schwarzsee, etc.) be green, with wildflowers by then? Or will they only thaw out in the hot summer months?
I guess you will be in for a treat!
Springtime usually starts in late March, early April (official, meterological start: 21 March); this year, due to the mild winter, it will most likely be that way.
Higher in the mountains, it might take a wee bit longer, but I would assume that by May – at the latest – you can see nature abloom!
It all depends on the next few weeks, but if winter starts to give way to springtime already, your chances are rather high.
